Senior Project Manager Climate and Disaster Risk Finance & Insurance

At Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, we have intensified our research and engagement in climate and disaster risk finance and insurance. We manage the InsuResilience Solutions Fund (ISF) and the Global Shield Solutions Platform (GSSP).ISF and GSSP are innovative programmes, funded by European Governments, that are designed to support and develop financial products for climate risks that mitigate the negative effects of climate-related disasters such as droughts, heat waves and floods. Within their mandates, the programmes work closely with partners in developing countries to support detailed climate risk analysis, the development and application of financing solutions, and the dissemination of knowledge to relevant stakeholder groups. The focus of this position will be to support the conceptual design and implementation of country programmes and subsequent monitoring of activities.To support our team we are looking for a Senior Project Manager (f/m/d) to start as soon as possible. The position is initially a two-year fixed-term contract.Ihr AufgabengebietImplementation of country support programmes in developing countries and in collaboration with sovereign regional risk pools. This includes the design and management of climate and disaster risk finance programmes, including regular progress reporting, stakeholder management, project monitoring, and review of project reports.Support partners in developing countries with a focus on the public sector in building their own capacity and expertise in climate and disaster risk finance, considering the local context.Contribute to partnerships and publications aimed at disseminating the programme’s overall results in the development cooperation context. Assist in the creation of communication materials to increase visibility and promote policy advocacy.Contribute actively to business development and the acquisition of new projects beyond the GSSP programme, with the aim of expanding and diversifying the team’s project portfolio.AnforderungenMaster's or bachelor's degree in economics, finance, natural sciences, engineering, or a related field.Proven work experience of at least 7 years in project management and acquisition of projects in a complex work environment with a broad range of stakeholders.In-depth knowledge and experience in climate and disaster risk finance and insurance.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (the working language is English); knowledge of German, and French or Spanish is an advantage.Excellent analytical skills, ability to communicate them verbally and in writing, team spirit and high level of cultural sensitivityWork experience in developing countries is an asset.Willingness to travel regularly on business to developing countries and within Europe.
