Private Equity/M&A Senior Associate

A leading German business law firm is looking to strengthen its Private Equity practice in Munich and Frankfurt and is seeking an experienced Lawyer to join its growing team. The role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced Partners, take responsibility for key aspects of transactions and contribute to the continued development of the practice.

The team advises national and international financial investors, portfolio companies and strategic investors on complex transactions across the small-, mid- and large-cap markets. Its work includes buyouts, platform and add-on acquisitions, investments, exits, restructurings and other corporate matters. The practice supports clients throughout the entire transaction lifecycle, from structuring and due diligence through to the negotiation of transaction documentation, signing and closing. The role also offers direct client contact and opportunities to develop client relationships and contribute to business development.

Your Profile:

• At least three years of relevant professional experience advising on corporate transactions, ideally with experience in private equity.
• Strong academic results in the German State Examinations in Law.
• Practical experience conducting due diligence and drafting and negotiating transaction documentation.
• A strong understanding of commercial and economic issues, with an interest in the business rationale behind transactions.
• Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken, for working on international mandates.
• A self-reliant, reliable and goal-oriented approach, with the ability to take responsibility for key transaction workstreams.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess complex matters, prioritise effectively and develop clear, commercially practical solutions.
• An entrepreneurial mindset, initiative and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
