Responsibilities:

• Serving as a privacy advisory point of contact for relevant business and functional stakeholders
• Supporting the implementation and ongoing sustainability of BorgWarner’s global privacy program to enable compliance
• Contributing to, day‑to‑day activities of the Data Privacy Office and supporting strategic initiatives to strengthen data privacy compliance
• Assisting with inquiries and matters related to data privacy
• Supporting the response to data breaches, including related documentation
• Coordinating and collaborating regularly with data privacy coordinators
• Helping ensure alignment with BorgWarner privacy policies and standards across data privacy operations
• Supporting the maintenance and continuous improvement of BorgWarner’s data management system
• Assisting with internal and external audits
• Contributing to the development and delivery of data privacy training for employees
• Supporting the development and maintenance of reporting dashboards
• Collaborating with internal partners (including Legal, IT Security, HR, Purchasing, and Marketing) to respond to inquiries, identify privacy gaps, propose solutions, and integrate practical approaches into established procedures

What we are looking for:

• At least 3 years of experience in a relevant data privacy, compliance, or related role
• Working knowledge of EU data protection and privacy regulations
• Comfort working with complex topics and the ability to work independently while knowing when to seek input
• Experience working in a global or cross‑regional environment
• Experience supporting privacy‑related inquiries, including requests from individuals exercising data protection rights
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment and meet deadlines
• Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail and the ability to identify process gaps and improvement opportunities
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional partners
• Proficiency in English
• A bachelor’s degree, relevant professional certification (such as CIPP/E or CIPP/US), or equivalent practical experience
• Legal background
• Proficiency in German or other European language
• Experience and knowledge of further laws and regulations related to data privacy such as LGPD, CCPA, CPRA, PIPL, etc.
• Prior experience as an administrator of data privacy management systems
