The department CISO / Chief ICT Risk Officer combines IT & IS Risk Management in the 2nd Line of Defense. The department’s mandate is to set the IT and IS risk governance and framework, set the control requirements, control review methodology, conduct independent risk assurance of 1st LoD IT and IS controls, and independently monitor, report on the level of IT and IS risk as well as to drive transformation and collaboration.

As an Intern in ICT Risk Assurance & Coverage unit, you will have an excellent opportunity to explore the ICT risk management function of a financial institution and gain valuable practical experience in an innovative company and dynamic team. You will work within a multicultural environment and take an active part in our processes, where you can expect diverse, interesting, and intellectually challenging tasks.

You will support assurance activities by assisting with evidence collection, documentation, analysis, and reporting under the guidance of experienced colleagues. This role will give you hands-on exposure to ICT risk and control assessments, regulatory topics, and the practical workings of assurance in a regulated environment. You will contribute delivering our ICT Risk product and services for stakeholders while also supporting ongoing innovation initiatives within the Assurance unit.

Your Responsibilities:

• You will support the preparation and execution of assessments / testing to ensure that control requirements are effectively implemented by the 1st Line of Defense
• You will assist in consolidating and structuring assessment evidence, ensuring completeness and maintaining audit‑ready documentation
• You will support the team in following up on results and recommended improvements from prior assessments to ensure timely and sustainable risk remediation
• You will contribute to the continuous improvement of ICT Risk Assurance methodologies, templates, checklists, and working practices
• You will support the validation and central tracking of ICT control ownership across the organization
• You will assist in validating the mapping of 2nd Line control requirements to 1st Line controls to ensure consistency and coverage
• You will support initiatives to drive innovation and enhance sustainable assurance practices, including exploring opportunities for AI integration into assurance assessments

Your Profile:

• You are enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program with a recognized institution in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Informatics, Risk Management, or a comparable field
• You have a strong interest in IT risk management, information security, governance, controls, and regulatory topics
• You experienced first exposure through coursework, projects, working student roles, or internships is an advantage
• You have basic understanding (or motivation to learn) topics such as cloud security, network security, vulnerability management, SIEM, IAM/PAM, or incident response
• You show a structured and detail-oriented working style, with the ability to handle documentation carefully and reliably
• You have very good analytical skills, creativity, critical thinking and the ability to identify problems and propose solutions
• You are competent in handling MS Office applications (in particular VBA, Excel, Access, Power Point, Word, etc.)
• You have good communication and presentation skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
• You have very good English skills (written and spoken); German is an advantage
