About You and this Role

Liferay is seeking a Sales Engineer to help shape the digital future of businesses. As a Sales Engineer, you'll be the bridge between cutting-edge technology and real-world business needs. The Sales Engineer will be supporting the creation of demos, solution proposals, commercial strategies, positioning documents and collaterals, targeting specifically opportunities in EMEA North. Sales Engineers are both highly technical and laser-focused on business solutions.
We’re a distributed and collaborative Sales Engineering team, and we believe there are no boundaries between customer service and technical sales, engineering and storytelling, closing opportunities and consulting. We work independently but support our Sales Teams and SE colleagues in any and every way. We provide ongoing and iterative training and enablement geared toward subject matter expertise and improving the sales experience. Our goal is to raise revenue by delivering solution demonstrations based on our products, creating and sharing new sales collaterals, and evangelizing about Liferay and its technology as we listen to prospects and customers share their digital transformation endeavors.
Key Objectives
Create and conduct attractive, properly branded, solution-based product demonstrations that delight customers and prospects that showcase the power of Liferay’s platform.
Support the creation of persuasive proposals, RFIs/RFPs, tender bids, commercial strategies, positioning documents and collateral targeting, addressing clients pain points and highlighting the value of our solutions.
Participate in the technical engagement with prospects, customers and partner opportunities for Liferay projects.
Define implementation architectures, developing deep expertise in Liferay technologies as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using our platform
Be a subject matter expert on areas as they relate to customer applications and services (e.g. Customer Experience, Web Content Management, Integration with external systems, etc.).
Educate customers of all sizes on the value proposition of Liferay and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployments.
Participate in road shows, conferences, and different forms of Liferay evangelism, sharing your passion for Liferay technology with potential customers and partners.
Partner with the sales team, formulate and execute a sales strategy to exceed revenue objectives through the adoption of Liferay Cloud solutions. You will work closely with our sales team to drive deals and exceed targets.
Continuously develop your technical skills and sales expertise through ongoing training and mentorship.
Required Qualifications
A solid understanding of web technologies (Java, JavaScript, etc.), backend languages (Java, Spring Boot, Python, etc..) and a passion for learning new things.
Experience designing/implementation/consulting experience with web based applications and/or Digital Experience Platforms/CMS
Skilled at presenting to both large and small audiences (Executives, IT Management, and developers)
Experience with business requirements gathering, technical specifications, architecture diagrams, development, testing, and deployment.
Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies, like AI, and learn quickly.
Ability to identify challenges and craft innovative solutions.
Excellent communication skills with an ability to confidently lead technical and/or business discussions, and ability to articulate complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
Strong written communication skills, with a can-do spirit and a love for working with people.
Excellent prioritization, organization, and time management skills; ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to travel up to 20% of the time to customer/prospect sites, including international travel.
Technical degree required: Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
Excellent German and English (reading, writing and speaking).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Liferay technologies or similar solutions
Experience with front end development (HTML, CSS, Javascript, React, Angular) and JAVA/OSGi development.
Technical degree: Computer Science, Engineering , Data Science or equivalent
Working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies
Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
Industry expert in at least one particular domain, vertical or platform: DXP, Cloud, etc.
An advanced degree in marketing, computer science, MIS, engineering or related discipline
A third language such as Portuguese will be an additional advantage
