Economist (ESCB/IO) in the International Policy Analysis Division
Your role
As an Economist, you will:- contribute to the analysis of exchange rates, commodity markets, international financial issues and/or global interlinkages;
- conduct analysis using, and/or contribute to the further development of, models or tools in the Division’s areas of competence;
- develop policy positions and carry out substantive analytical work on issues related to global governance and the international monetary and financial system;
- contribute to the preparation of briefings on issues related to international fora, including meetings of the G7, G20, IMF and BIS, within the Division’s area of expertise;
- contribute to ECB publications and external communications.
Qualifications, experience and skills
Essential:- a master's degree or equivalent in economics, international finance or another relevant field (see on our website for details on degree equivalences);
- at least four years’ professional experience (excluding internships and traineeships) in analysing global policy issues, global capital markets and/or international financial issues;
- track record in preparing and communicating policy-related material in non-technical terms, both orally and in writing;
- an advanced (C1) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command of at least one other official language of the EU, according to the .
- a PhD in economics, finance or another relevant field;
- an excellent understanding of macroeconomics and international financial markets;
- experience in applied empirical work and in the application of econometric methods and/or structural modelling for policy analysis;
- experience in preparing and/or coordinating policy-related material;
- a publication record in areas related to the Division’s fields of interest.
