The Issuer Services Deputy Manager is an intermediate management level position responsible for providing services in Germany to our clients and full leadership and direction to a team of employees in the absence of the Head of Operations. The overall objective of this role is the delivery of a best-in-class service to our clients, focused on efficiency and innovation, in a pristine control environment by dedicated & knowledgeable staff. **Responsibilities:** * Execute securities transaction processing related to Issuance and Paying Agent services (Emissionsbegleitendes Institut/Zahlstelle) * Formulate procedures, techniques and contribute to the development of new techniques that increase team productivity, ensuring entire team meets or exceeds performance goals * Serve as an analytical and procedural expert, and as a point of escalation for staff members, management and internal/external clients * Escalate control gaps and issues to senior management as needed * Identify control gaps during settlement cycle and implements appropriate solutions to mitigate any risk or control losses * Analyze data to identify control deficiencies and resolve discovered issues through implementing appropriate procedures * Act as an advisor to new/junior staff * Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards. * Key area of focus of the team is Issuing & Paying Agent (Emissionsbegleitendes Institut/Zahlstelle), Common Depository (Verwahrstelle/Vault Services), Registrar (Registerführer onshore/offshore), operationally supporting the equity capital markets offering (zB. IPOs, Kapitalerhöhungen, Reverse Splits). **Qualifications:** * 5-8 years of relevant experience in Securities Services * Good knowledge of the nature of securities, such as equities, bonds warrants (all leveraged products/Hebelprodukte) and Investment products (Strukturierte Produkte) * Understanding of the German Market and the local CSD Clearstream Banking Europe AG (CEU former CBF) * Experience in a securities transactions processing role * In-depth knowledge of settlement cycle concepts and procedures to resolve settlement issues * Previous people management experience is a plus * Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in English and German **Education:** * We are looking for an experience subject matter expert with securities services background, ideally with references to Issuer Services in conjunction with Clearstream Europe AG. * Bachelor’s Degree/University degree a plus, not required. **What we can offer you:** By joining Citi Germany, you will not only be part of a business casual workplace with a hybrid working model (up to 2 days working at home per week), but also receive a competitive base salary (which is annually reviewed) and enjoy a whole host of additional benefits that support you (and your family) to be well, live well and save well.
