About our client Our client is a portfoliopany in Testing, Inspection & Certification (TIC) and Engineering for sustainable buildings, backed by a leading mid-market private equity firm. The firm has a clear investment thesis and a proven playbook centred around consolidation and operational enhancement in this fragmented, regulation-driven market. They are now looking to appoint a Buy-in CEO to lead the German part of the business through its inception and guide it through the next stage of growth, including a significant buy-and-build strategy.This is a unique opportunity for amercially driven and operationally capable CEO to take on ownership, partner closely with an experienced investor. What the job involves
- Execute on a proven playbook roadmap to grow the business
- Lead M&A activity from origination through to integration, with support and strong backing from the PE sponsor
- Build and develop a high-performing leadership team to support scale and transformation
- Drive operational excellence, improving systems, processes, service delivery and profitability
- Represent the German part of the business externally and internally, building strong relationships with customers, regulators, advisors and stakeholders
- Report to the board and sponsor, maintaining transparency and alignment with the value creation plan
- Invest alongside the private equity sponsor and act as a true owner-operator
- Proven experience as CEO in a PE-backed or entrepreneurial business in an adjacent B2B services sector. Alternatively, actively involved investment professional looking to step up into a general management role
- The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of strong experience in areas relating to certification and engineering of sustainable buildings
- Track record of successful M&A execution and integration, preferably in a buy-and-build context
- Operationally hands-on, capable of building structure and discipline in a growing business
- Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to scale a business sustainably
- Strategic thinker, able to persuade through evidence-based conviction
- Excellent interpersonal skills with fluent English and German language skills
