In 2024 , we successfully released Enshrouded in Early Access and are now preparing for our 1.0 launch. We're looking for a Lead Character Artist who is passionate about creating memorable, high-quality characters that bring our world to life. You combine strong artistic vision with hands-on production expertise and a deep understanding of character pipelines. From shaping the visual identity of characters to guiding and mentoring the team, you’ll play a key role in delivering a cohesive and compelling experience for 1.0 and beyond.

Are you ready to shape unforgettable characters and bring a rich fantasy world to life? Join our experienced art team at Keen Games and take on the challenge of defining and delivering the character quality bar for Enshrouded !

What you'll do:

• You establish and maintain high visual quality and consistency across all character assets

• You contribute hands-on by modeling, sculpting, and texturing game-ready characters, outfits and gear, from humans to creatures

• You work closely with engineering to refine character workflows, optimize assets, and ensure smooth integration into our proprietary engine

• You mentor and support internal character artists, providing feedback and guidance to help them develop and deliver their best work

• You manage outsourcing studios by providing clear briefs, feedback, and paint-overs to ensure assets meet our artistic and technical standards

• You work closely with design, animation, and other art departments to ensure characters support gameplay, readability, and the overall player experience

• You collaborate with producing to plan, prioritize and manage timelines for character production, ensuring assets are delivered on schedule

Your qualification:

• You have strong experience creating high-quality characters and a deep understanding of modeling, sculpting, and texturing for games

• You possess excellent knowledge of human and creature anatomy

• You have experience maintaining style consistency and quality across a large set of assets, including outsourced content

• You bring strong communication and problem-solving skills, enabling effective collaboration with both internal teams and external partners

• You are familiar with character pipelines and workflows in modern game engines and know how to balance quality with performance

• Ideally, you have drawing skills that allow you to create or refine concept art and provide strong visual direction

• Experience with Blender is a plus
