As our European operations continue to grow, we're looking for a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team on a major project in Frankfurt, Germany .
Whether you're a recent Quantity Surveying graduate or have some construction industry experience, this is an exciting opportunity to develop your commercial career while working alongside experienced professionals on large-scale international projects.
This is a site-based rotational position , so you'll need to be comfortable working away from home on a rotational basis. Flights and accommodation are provided.
The RoleReporting to the Commercial Manager , you'll support the commercial delivery of projects from tender stage through to final account, gaining exposure to every aspect of Quantity Surveying on high-value construction projects.
Your responsibilities will include:- Assisting with the preparation of tenders and pricing submissions.
- Carrying out quantity take-offs and preparing Bills of Quantities.
- Supporting interim valuations, variations and final accounts.
- Assisting with procurement and supplier negotiations.
- Monitoring project costs, budgets and cash flow.
- Maintaining accurate commercial records and site documentation.
- Assisting with subcontractor management and payment applications.
- Supporting value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.
- Working closely with the Commercial Manager, Project Managers and site teams.
- Carrying out site measurements and progress assessments.
- Ensuring contractual documentation is maintained accurately and on time.
- Supporting the successful commercial delivery of projects from start to finish.
Requirements
About YouWe're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, ambitious and eager to build a long-term career in Quantity Surveying.
Essential Requirements- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related construction discipline, or relevant construction industry experience .
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full driving licence.
- Willingness to work away from home on a rotational basis in Frankfurt, Germany .
- Experience working on roofing, cladding, façade or building envelope projects.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Project or commercial software.
