Senior AI Engineer

We are currently filling the role of a Senior AI Engineer at a boutique AI consulting company, specialising in advanced AI solutions, driving the development of cutting-edge artificial intelligence applications.

This specialised AI engineering firm has been creating custom AI models and solutions since 2020. With a dedicated team of 10 engineers and data scientists, they have consistently built production-grade AI solutions for global enterprises across legal, healthcare, manufacturing, and insurance sectors.

In this pivotal position, you will be instrumental in building and shipping production-grade AI/ML software, focusing on designing and orchestrating complex AI workflows, including agentic pipelines and RAG systems, for real-world use cases. We are seeking an experienced professional with a Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, 4+ years of production software development experience, demonstrable expertise in Python and modern AI/ML frameworks, and fluency in English.

| WHAT YOU WILL DO

* Lead the conceptualisation, development, and deployment of pioneering AI solutions.

* Engineer and deliver production-ready AI/ML software across diverse applications.

* Formulate and organise sophisticated AI workflow architectures, including agent-driven systems.

* Establish and oversee Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) system implementations.

* Seamlessly embed AI/ML models within resilient software platforms.

| WHOM WE ARE LOOKING FOR

* Academic Background: An advanced degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline.

* Professional Acumen: A minimum of 4 years in professional software development, demonstrating a proven track record of constructing and deploying production-level applications.

* Technical Proficiency: Expert-level command of Python and contemporary development methodologies, including clean code principles, robust testing, and a solid grasp of software architecture.

* Framework & Tooling Experience: Practical knowledge of current Python frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Flask, Django) and leading AI/LLM frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph). Competency with Docker, container orchestration, and cloud-native development environments.

* AI/ML Integration Expertise: Proven hands-on capability in developing software that embeds AI/ML models, particularly in crafting agentic pipelines, deploying RAG systems, and managing intricate AI workflows for production environments.

* Client Engagement: Demonstrated experience in successfully overseeing client projects or collaborating directly with clients in a technical advisory role.

* Self-Reliance & Accountability: The capacity to independently drive projects from initial concept through to live production deployment with minimal oversight.

* Linguistic Skills: Fluency in English is essential (proficiency in German is advantageous but not mandatory).

| REMOTE WORK POLICY

In this role, you can work hybrid remote (1 day remote) from the office in Munich or Darmstadt.

Should you need to travel for this role, your travel expenses will, of course, be covered.
