In the Finance division, we act as a partner to business units around the globe by providing management, review, analysis and advisory services of the Firm's financial and capital resources.

This is a Director level position (AVP-Equivalent) within the Finance organization supporting Financial Planning & Analysis activities for Morgan Stanley Europe SE (MSESE), including budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis, and stress-testing.
Standard Description of the Firm

Since 1935, Morgan Stanley is a leading global financial services firm providing a wide range of investment banking, securities, investment management and wealth management services. As a market leader, the talent and passion of our people is critical to our success. Together, we share a common set of values rooted in integrity, excellence, and strong team ethic, providing a superior foundation for building a professional career.

  • Responsible for and lead a significant set of deliverables across entity FP&A forecasting outcomes, including Budgeting, Forecasting and Performance Analysis
  • Proactively identify emerging risks across deliverables and processes and drive mitigants through governance, controls and process improvements
  • Act as a role model and culture carrier; embody the Firm's values and hold yourself and others accountable to Firm standards
  • Coordinate the MSESE forecasting cycle (including Quarterly and Annual Stress Tests - QST/AST), managing timelines, challenging assumptions, and rationalising outputs into a coherent narrative with clear documentation
  • Drive alignment of assumptions across ISG Finance, Treasury, Regulatory Controllers and LIFC, spanning P&L, Balance Sheet, RWA, Funding and Capital
  • Partner with US stakeholders to deliver projections into MSBNA processes (QST/AST, Budget and Strategic/Long Term Plans), including presenting and explaining results
  • Deliver regulatory reporting template requirements for forecasting outputs, manage requirement changes with upstream providers and stakeholders (including CCAR/DFAST/ICAAP), and develop new internal reporting
  • Partner with model owners/developers to define requirements and prioritisation across Finance, Risk and Technology, challenge model outputs and articulate results credibly to stakeholders
  • Prepare responses and materials for senior management and regulatory requests, including ad hoc requests with quick turnaround and preparation for regulatory meetings

What you'll bring to the role

  • Advanced understanding of Finance functional areas including forecasting, performance analysis, and regulatory / stress testing processes
  • Ability to articulate risk and impact to various audiences and create plans to mitigate those risks
  • Ability to provide positive and constructive feedback and acknowledge efforts of team members
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related fields; additional qualifications preferred (Chartered Accountant, CFA, Master's)
  • Experience in Financial Services, ideally within forecasting, performance analysis, or regulatory / stress testing processes
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex deliverables end-to-end, including timelines, dependency management and quality control
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to challenge assumptions constructively and present complex outputs to senior audiences
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with ability to work across P&L and balance sheet concepts (RWA/capital/funding exposure is a plus)
  • Experience partnering with Technology/model owners to define requirements and implement improvements in controlled environments
