Your area of responsibility
As VAT expert within Group Tax – the central tax department of Deutsche Börse Group – you will play a key role in ensuring VAT compliance across our German entities. You will drive process improvements, contribute to strategic tax initiatives, and act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders.
Your tasks
- Preparation and review of VAT returns, EC sales lists, and annual VAT declarations
- Strategic involvement in year-end closing processes and tax audits
- Acting as a senior point of contact for complex VAT-related matters across the organization
- Leading the enhancement of VAT-relevant processes and compliance tools – especially regarding input VAT allocation
- Close collaboration with internal departments like Accounting, Legal, IT and external advisors
- Mentoring junior team members and contributing to knowledge sharing within the tax function
Your profile
- University degree in business administration with a focus on taxation or finance, further qualification as tax advisor
- More than 5 years of professional experience in VAT compliance, ideally within the financial services industry or a multinational corporation
- Strong expertise in ERP systems and VAT compliance tools (e.g. VERA, Vertex); experience in process automation is a plus
- Strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and a proactive, solution-oriented approach
- Excellent communication skills in both German and English
