We accelerate digital transformation in banking and insurance through a portfolio of cloud-native solutions, built on SAP Business Technology Platform and shaped in close co-innovation with our customers.About the roleAs a Principal CAP & BTP Cloud Native Engineer you take end-to-end ownership of backend topics across our cloud-native banking and development bank solutions. You design and build with the SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP), SAP BTP services, ABAP Cloud and RAP. You set the bar for architecture quality, you deliver, and you make the people around you better.This is a hands-on engineering role. We expect you to write code, shape architecture and own outcomes, not just produce slides.Recruiting partnerAs part of our strategic partnership, okadis and SAP Fioneer co-develop cloud-ready banking solutions on SAP BTP, and we're hiring a Principal CAP & BTP Cloud Native Engineer. Our okadis colleagues take over the selection process and also the onboarding. Lead an enthusiastic team, establish engineering standards, and mentor developers.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, build and run CAP services (Node.js and/or Java) on SAP BTP, including domain modeling with CDS, OData V4 service design, XSUAA based authentication and event driven integration via SAP Event Mesh.Take technical ownership of clearly scoped modules and topics, from the initial cut and domain model through to productive delivery.Shape clean, testable architectures along established patterns (Hexagonal, Domain Driven Design, CQRS where appropriate) and make pragmatic trade offs between elegance and delivery pressure.Integrate backend services with S/4HANA, RAP business objects and external APIs via Destination Service and Cloud Connector.Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (MTAR build, Cloud Foundry deployment, trunk based development) and ensure clean environment separation.Safeguard quality through code reviews, automated tests (unit, integration, contract) and consistent coding guidelines.Document architectural decisions as ADRs and share knowledge through pair programming, mentoring and brown bag sessions.Partner with Product Owners and Solution Architects to translate business requirements into solutions that can actually be shipped.Requirements5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 3+ years productive work with CAP and SAP BTP.Strong command of Node.js or Java, CDS and OData V4, plus a good working understanding of Fiori Elements and SAPUI5 from a backend integration perspective.Hands-on experience with Cloud Foundry, MTAR deployments and the relevant BTP services: XSUAA, Destination, Connectivity, Event Mesh, HANA Cloud.Solid grasp of SAP integration patterns: RAP, ABAP Cloud, SAP Integration Suite, BTP ABAP Environment.Architecture craft: Domain Driven Design, clean layering, API design and versioning, security and data protection (GDPR) by design.Confident with Git, trunk based workflows, pull request reviews and modern engineering tooling.You take ownership, deliver under uncertainty and raise risks early and clearly.High travel readiness within DACH.Fluent English and German (at least C1) is a must have given our customer base.Nice to haveExperience in banking, development banks or insurance.ABAP Cloud and RAP at steel thread level or above.Practical experience with Kyma, Kubernetes or other cloud-native runtimes beyond Cloud Foundry.Open source contributions, technical blog posts or conference talks.Familiarity with SonarQube, OpenTelemetry, Dynatrace or comparable observability.BenefitsGreenfield projects with real architectural ownership and short decision paths.Co-innovation with leading customers in the financial services market.Competitive compensation and conference attendance.International team with flat hierarchies and a pragmatic, outcome driven culture.Job SummaryID: 9A343834ADDepartment: FinanceType: full time
