The Integrated Research Training Group (IRTG) of the Collaborative Research Center 1507“Membrane-associated Protein Assemblies, Machineries, and Supercomplexes” (CRC 1507) at Goethe University Frankfurt offers as soon as possible several positions of

PhD Students / Research Assistants (m/f/x)
(E 13 TV-G-U, 65% part-time)

for a limited period of four years. The salary grade is based on the job characteristics of the collective agreement applicable to Goethe University (TV-G-U) or to the participating institutions.

In our collaborative research center, 19 project leaders and around 100 employees work on the mechanistic elucidation of protein complexes and machineries at cell membranes, thus making pioneering contributions to biomedicine and the treatment of diseases. The Integrated Research Training Group, as part of the CRC 1507, is dedicated to scientifically educate PhD students and to accompany them on their way to a successful PhD thesis. Your qualifications:

• A scientific master’s degree in biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry, molecular biology, or related disciplines
• Very good English skills (written and oral)
• Practical scientific expertise and strong theoretical background in one of the research fields
• Creativity, flexibility, and a high degree of scientific curiosity
• Enthusiasm for basic research and a strong willingness to work in interdisciplinary teams
