To strengthen our group-wide AI team , we are looking for a Data Scientist (m/f/d) who will further develop our data and AI initiatives and bridge the gap between data, algorithms and real business impact.

A GLIMPSE INTO YOUR DAY

Your tasks

• You develop, program and operate data, machine learning and AI pipelines (end-to-end: data acquisition, processing, training, deployment and monitoring).
• You develop production-ready software solutions in Python and reliably transfer models into operational use.
• You will conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) and identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in complex datasets.
• You design, implement, and optimize machine learning models to solve specific business problems.
• You develop and maintain prompt strategies (prompt engineering) for LLM-based use cases such as extraction, classification, summarization, and Q&A.
• You work on LLM architectures , e.g., Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and vector databases.
• You will work closely with Product, Engineering, BI and specialist departments to implement scalable, automated AI solutions .
• You ensure the quality, traceability, maintainability, and performance of code, models, and pipelines.
• You prepare analysis and model results in a way that is understandable for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

FOR A PERFECT MATCH

What you bring

• A completed degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a comparable quantitative field.
• Several years of practical experience as a data scientist , machine learning engineer, or in a comparable role.
• Excellent programming skills in Python and experience with production-oriented software development.
• Solid experience with data, ML or AI pipelines (e.g. ETL/ELT, feature pipelines, training and inference workflows).
• Experience with MLOps and pipeline tools (e.g., Azure ML, MLflow, Airflow, CI/CD, container workflows).
• Excellent knowledge of prompt engineering for large language models, including testing, versioning, and optimization of prompts.
• Understanding of modern LLM architectures and evaluation of model and output quality.
• Safe handling of databases (SQL/NoSQL) as well as structured and unstructured data.
• Analytical thinking skills, strong problem-solving abilities and a pronounced engineering mindset .
• Excellent German and English skills, both spoken and written (at least C1 level).
